Girls Inc. now offers Community Based Outreach programs within Knox County. We deliver core Girls Inc. programs while providing a nurturing environment for girls to be themselves. Outreach staff present intentional programs and hands-on activities within the after school hours where girls live and go to school. We serve girls of all races, ethnicity and economic backgrounds. We offer scholarships in all our programs and currently serve over 65% of participants on scholarships.

Research based and intentional programming curricula.
Girls Inc. Operation Smart: A program designed to provide hands-on experiences with math, science and technology. It builds girls’ skills with activities that give girls the opportunity to explore, ask questions and solve problems through projects, games and exploration. Helping girls develop enthusiasm for and skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Through hands on activities girls explore, ask questions and solve problems.
Magic Within: Girls learn to set goals for themselves and their futures, make action plans in achieving those goals and build overall self esteem. We work with girls to create open forums to discuss their passions, concerns and needs for their future’s success. We encourage them to build themselves up and learn to advocate for not only themselves but their communities as well.
Girls Inc. Economic Literacy: This program provides girls with the skills and confidence they need to contribute to the economy. Girls learn how to budget, save, spend and make informed financial decisions. Girls discuss issues regarding equal pay, child care welfare and other economic issues that particularly affect women and girls.
